Utilising Lived Experience to shape a ‘safety-net’ of support for those on the rehabilitative journey of leaving prison and addiction, Wizer CIC provide a full range of holistic wrap around support to ensure individuals remain fully supported at all times.

Led by those who have lived through the system and successfully overcome drug and alcohol addictions themselves, Wizer believe those closest to the problems are also closest to the solution, and when empowered, they become powerful agents of change.

Wizer CIC have dedicated pathways for males (Project Phoenix) and females (Project Athena) requiring support.

Underpinned by stringent service level and information sharing

agreements, referrals can be made by partner agencies and services as well as walk ins to the local office in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire.

To ensure the best possible outcomes, contact begins 16 weeks prior to release (custody referrals only) to build professional relationships in a trauma informed way and ensure effective release plans are in place for continuity of care.

Whilst the Projects aims and outcomes are similar, due to vulnerabilities of women prison leavers, a dedicated female pathway is essential by ensuring Project Athena comprises of female only recovery navigators.

Wizer provide safe and supportive spaces where individuals can process trauma, build confidence and reconnect with purpose through hobbies. For many of the service users, creativity becomes a tool for recovery, reflection and positivity.
